Fire Prevention Week 2015 - Free Fire Extinguisher Training

October is Fire Prevention Month and the week of October 4-10 is Fire Prevention Week. As a service to the Eugene/Springfield and Roseburg communities, National Fire Fighter Corp. will be providing free fire extinguisher training during Fire Prevention Week. The trainings will be held at 1574 W 6th Ave in Eugene on Thursday 10/8 – Friday 10/9 from 11am-2pm and at 325 E Happy Valley Rd in Roseburg on Wednesday 10/6 from 11am-2pm. Smokejumpers: Firefighters from the Sky - Free Exhibit

For 75 years, the men and women of the Smokejumpers have served on the front lines against wildfires throughout the U.S. and Canada. This exhibit, Smokejumpers: Firefighters from the Sky, describes the evolution and role of smokejumping over the last seven decades, and the development of the techniques and technologies that has made aerial firefighting in the Pacific Northwest what it is today.
