Kidde Fire Extinguisher Recall 2/12/15

by | | 0 comment(s)

Kidde has recalled 31 models of their disposable fire extinguishers with Zytel® black plastic valves. The recalled extinguishers are red, white or silver and are either ABC or BC rated. Manufacture dates included in the recall are July 23, 2013 through October 15, 2014. Kidde has received 11 reports of the recalled fire extinguishers failing to discharge as expected. No injuries have been reported.

National Fire Fighter Corp. does NOT sell any Kidde fire extinguishers or any other disposable fire extinguishers with plastic valves. Only fire extinguishers with metal valves and handles are able to be serviced. While the initial expense is a bit higher for reusable fire extinguishers, because they are able to be refilled and recharged after use or as the pressure deteriorates over time, the value of purchasing and owning reusable fire extinguishers is far greater than that of disposable fire extinguishers with plastic parts.

If you are in need of a new reusable fire extinguisher or your existing reusable fire extinguisher needs to be serviced, we can provide walk-in sales and service in our 6 locations in Oregon.
